Our Approach

How work flows through Humanz

Built by operators, for operators. Humanz comes from people who have lived the complexity of managing people, assets and operations first-hand, so everything we build works toward what matters most to the businesses we serve. Built in Perth since 2019, with mining services contractors among the first to run on it, the full story is on our About page.

Schedule & roster

Build multi-site rosters from live availability with drag-and-drop. Before a shift can be confirmed, the scheduler checks fatigue thresholds, current licences and qualifications, blocking non-compliant bookings. Employees and subcontractors are rostered in one view; FIFO swing patterns supported.

Mobilise to site

Attach FIFO flights and accommodation to the roster via templates and bulk uploads, and allocate the right tools, vehicles and equipment to each job.

Communicate & confirm

Publish shifts to personnel's phones, track seen / unseen status, and send job-linked messages, briefings and reminders, closing the loop before a no-show can happen. Notifications route by user, role or team.

Work on site

Personnel view their shift details and site brief, complete prestart checks, incident reports and approvals via custom forms, and confirm assets on the job.

Capture time

Digital timesheets are pre-filled from roster data, submitted from the field, then reviewed and adjusted against actual attendance, with a full audit trail.

Payroll

Approved timesheets flow through to payroll, reducing manual re-keying and the gap between what was planned, worked and paid.

Future functionality

We're continuously building. New features are always in development, this is just where Humanz is today, not where it stops.

Client rollout map

An indicative plan for implementing Humanz with a new client, moving from configuration and master-data setup through to full module rollout.

Every business is different. This map is a guide, not a fixed timeline, it's shaped around each client's requirements. The weeks shown don't mean Humanz is working on your rollout continuously for 11 weeks. Instead, we support you throughout the process and complete each key activity in line with when your business is ready to take the next step, so the pace always suits you.

What we need from you

The honest answer to "how much work is this on our side?", less than you'd think, and none of it needs to be tidy.

How your data comes across

Every rollout starts with what you already have: the spreadsheet, the shared drive of licences, the roster on the whiteboard. During the configuration weeks on the map above, we load and structure it with you, clients, sites, people and patterns become the master data everything else runs on.

You don't need to clean anything up first. Turning a messy spreadsheet into a working system is the job; it's not a prerequisite for getting started.

  • A list of your people, employees and subbies, however it exists today
  • Your clients and their sites
  • The roster patterns you run, weekly, swings, ad hoc
  • Licences, tickets and inductions, with expiry dates where you have them
  • Who checks and approves timesheets
  • The paper forms you'd like on phones, prestarts, take fives, checklists

For your IT team

The rollout questions IT asks are usually the shortest to answer.

Sign in with your Microsoft account

Humanz supports Microsoft single sign-on across the web app and the mobile app, so crews use the credentials IT already controls. No separate password list to manage.

Nothing to install on site

Workers run the Humanz app on the phone already in their pocket, and coordinators work in the browser. No extra hardware, terminals or per-device licences.

Offboarding is one action

Access follows the Microsoft account. Disable the account when someone leaves and their Humanz access goes with it, instead of surviving on a forgotten password.

The longer version, including the offboarding gap single sign-on closes, is in our guide to Microsoft single sign-on for workforce software.

Rollout questions

How long does a Humanz rollout take?

An indicative Humanz rollout runs about 11 weeks, but the honest answer is that it depends on your operation and your pace. Rollouts are phased, each step lands when your team is ready, and the weeks are support checkpoints rather than a fixed timeline.

What do we need to have ready before starting?

A list of your people, your clients and sites, the roster patterns you run, and whatever credential records you hold. Spreadsheets and shared drives are fine. Nothing needs tidying first, because structuring it is part of the configuration work, not a prerequisite.

Who does the configuration and data setup?

Humanz does it with you rather than handing you a login and a manual. Clients, sites, crews and rules are configured together during the setup weeks, so the system reflects how you already operate instead of forcing a new structure on day one.

Do we have to roll out every module at once?

No. Every module is enabled from the start, but adoption is phased: most businesses go live with the scheduler and mobile app, then bring in timesheets, then forms, with fatigue and mobilisation joining as the team is ready.

How do workers sign in, and on what devices?

On their own phones, through the Humanz mobile app, with Microsoft single sign-on supported across both the mobile and web apps. Coordinators and admin work in the browser. No extra hardware is needed on site.

What support do we get after go-live?

Ongoing Australian-based support and continuous product updates, not a handover and a goodbye. The same team that ran your rollout stays reachable as your crews, clients and sites change.
